BERRY CHIA SMOOTHIE

Berry Chia Smoothie

Long term Honest Project readers will know that I love a good smoothie. They are the ideal way to incorporate fresh produce and seeds into your diet. There was a time when I posted a new smoothie recipe to the blog every Friday morning. It was good while it lasted but the reality of smoothie-making is that there are only so many combos of fruit, vegetables and seeds that you can create. So alas my Friday Smoothie series fell by the way side. Actually, my general smoothie making habit has fallen by the way side of late. I'm putting that down to this crappy weather. Smoothies in the rain are just not that appealing.

I have today's 3pm slump to thank for this Berry Chia smoothie recipe. I've been reaching for the chocolate way too much recently, so out came the blender and in went the frozen berries. Frozen berries will always win out over fresh when it comes to smoothies. They make for a much smoother smoothie and are a million times more affordable than fresh.

2 tbsp Greek yogurt

2 tbsp chia seeds

2 dates, pitted

Place the frozen berries in your blender. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth and creamy.

Pour into two glasses and serve immediately. Alternatively store in an airtight container in the fridge and serve within 24 hours, giving it a good shake before serving.
