This smoothie is perfect for all age groups, but it is especially great for little ones, who might not be the best at eating their greens. This is a really good way to sneak some leafy green goodness into their day. I know lots of kids (and a whole lot of adults too) that wouldn't relish the thought of eating a cup of spinach for breakfast. But blended in a smoothie with some delicious berries and banana and it tastes so so good. Frozen berries are perfect for this recipe especially when berries are out of season and buying them fresh is ultra expensive. This recipe serves one decent adult serving and two smaller child servings.

Ingredients:

1 cup of frozen or fresh berries (e.g. raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries)

1/2 banana

1 cup of spinach

1 cup of almond milk

Method:

Add all the ingredients to a blender and whizz until they are combined and you have a smoothie consistency. This is tastiest when served immediately, but it will hold in an airtight container if you want to give it to kids as part of their school lunch.
