Don’t fall for those that dismiss quinoa as a faddy food. Quinoa is a nutritious food that is rich in plant based protein. It also tastes darn good when given a little love and attention. Quinoa is a complete source of protein in that it contains all nine essential amino acids. These are the amino acids that our bodies cannot generate and so we must get them from our food. One of the simplest and tastiest ways to prepare quinoa is to cook it and then dress it with lemon juice, olive oil, sea salt and black pepper. However, if you want to broaden your quinoa horizons, try one of these five Honest Project quinoa recipes.
We tend to associate porridge with oats and we tend to associate quinoa with lunch or dinner times. However, porridge can be made from quinoa and there is no rule that says quinoa can’t be eaten for breakfast. Quinoa porridge takes a little longer to make than oat porridge so it may be more suitable for weekends or days when you have a little more time to spend preparing breakfast.
