THE ULTIMATE HACK FOR CLEANING YOUR BATHROOM, AU NATURAL

I've spent my fair share of time cleaning bathrooms, usually with some store bought cleaner that's full of ingredients that require a chemistry degree to decipher. I think most of us are starting to take notice of the products we use and are shifting towards more natural choices in our makeup, skincare and now in what we bring into our homes. I was chatting to someone earlier this week about the air quality in our homes and how we can improve it by swapping out things like chemical cleaners, air freshners and scented candles for more natural alternatives, and I started today with my bathroom clean. While it's pretty difficult to avoid chemical cleaners completely, and I definitely don't want to become obsessive about it, this is an easy swap to start with. And there's a good chance you already have everything you need to make your own D.I.Y. cleaner in your kitchen.
I'm predicting that some of you might be reading this and thinking... seriously I have enough to be doing without making my own cleaning products too. I get that lots of us have the same reaction when we hear someone shouting from the rooftops about natural alternatives to our everyday conveniences. It's either a "that all sounds great, but will it work" or "where the heck am I supposed to find the time to do this" type of reaction.
But trust me when I say this one is a game-changer. My bathroom has never been cleaner and it took half the elbow grease it usually does. I usually don't write about stuff on the blog unless I've tried them a few times myself, but when I mentioned this on InstaStories today, I had loads of messages from people who either already do this and swear by it, or from people wanting to know more... so a blog post was born.
Read on for the ultimate bathroom cleaning hack.
Step 1: You'll need two spray bottles, a lemon, white vinegar, bread soda and your favourite essential oil (optional). You'll also need a scrubber, a cloth and a dry towel.
Step 2: Fill one spray bottle with pure vinegar. Fill the other spray bottle with two cups of warm water, two tablespoons of vinegar, the juice of a lemon and a few drops of your favourite essential oil. The essential oil is optional, but adds a nice scent. I used citronella.
Step 3: Spray all the surfaces that you want to clean with the vinegar only spray and leave for 15 minutes.
Step 4: Have a cup of coffee and catch up on InstaStories.
Step 5: After 15 minutes, prepare yourself for a cleaning epiphany. Grab your scrubber and sprinkle it with a generous amount of bread soda and get to work lightly scrubbing down your surfaces. I promise, minimum elbow grease is required; the vinegar will have done the hard work. If you have stubborn grim, mix some vinegar and bread soda together to create a pasta and use that to shift it.
Step 6: Once all the grim is scrubbed away, rinse your surfaces with warm water and then grab your second spray bottle with your water / vinegar / lemon solution and a dry towel and use it to shine your surfaces.
Step 7: Find something else to clean as you will be on a roll.
